Obituary for Sharon Lea Shofler

Sharon (Schultz) Shofler, 76 of Vinita, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019. She was born in Los Angeles, California. “That’s A Big 10-4 Sharon”. She led an interesting life as well as a diversity of careers, from assembly line work to dancing, caring for the elderly, to the most adventurous driving cross- country in Big Rigs. She drove with the Elite-Team hauling water and oil well pipe which can be hazardous to say the least. Sharon maintained an exceptional driving record throughout her career as a Truck Driver.
It was the lure of the open road and the call of liberty and freedom, that led to the crossing of paths of Sharon and John L. Shofler, who were friends for many years beginning in the 1990’s. They shared their love of adventure, raising Australian Shepherd’s to the joy of raising Quarter Horses. Sharon and John were lifetime members of AQHA, their shared interest and friendship grew to a strong abiding love for one another and later joined in marriage. They spent many happy years together if one could say, guess it must have been her bright red hair.
Sharon is survived by her family: Roberta Womack and family of California, Lynne Blasingame of Arizona and Oklahoma, Brenda Grigsby and family of Arkansas and Missouri, Jon Shofler and family of Texas and Missouri, Frank Shofler and family of Oklahoma, good friends locally and across the roads of America and especially at Burroughs Manor in Vinita. The community and those who went with her to the casinos and made her laugh. One thing is for sure that she made this garden in her life where we all live brighter and livelier by just being in it.
We will all miss Sharon and we are all sending loving and caring thoughts with you as you ride the stars across the sky and lush green meadows, and we will all see you again one day. May your dear heart be free.
Services are currently pending and will be announced later by Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita, Oklahoma.
