Obituary for Steven R. Grant

Steven Russell Grant, 68-year-old Ketchum resident, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born on March 8, 1951 in Gladstone, Missouri to Robert and Doris (Russell) Grant. Steve was a 1969 graduate of Oak Park High School in Kansas City, MO. He served his country in the United State Air Force after high school. Steve worked many years for Schlumberger Oil and Gas out of Bartlesville as a CNC operator, before his health forced his retirement. On April 25, 2003 he married Bonnie F. (Gabriel) Grant in Bartlesville. They had moved to the Ketchum area approximately two years ago from Bartlesville. Steve was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved playing his bass guitar, going fishing, boating and taking the golf cart with his grandsons down to the dock to swim. His mother was instrumental in starting the Nowata Opry, where he played many times. Steve will also be remembered as a great storyteller, loving husband and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family includes: his wife Bonnie of the home; stepsons, Steven Watts and wife Marnie of Ketchum, Matthew Watts of Bartlesville, five grandsons, and one granddaughter; one great-grandson as well as many friends.
The celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on our Facebook page. Arrangements are under the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Service of Vinita.
